If you are looking for a delicious, soft and easy homemade yeast bread look no further. This is my favorite white bread recipe and a big seller at the farmer’s market where I sell my baked goods. I have to give credit to “Big Family Homestead” for this recipe. Since I have made this bread, it’s been my favorite, especially when it first comes out of the oven! I can smell it’s aroma while it’s baking and I can’t wait till it’s done. I make sure I have some room temp butter readily available to slather on the first slice cut! I try to not make it too often aside for selling it at the market because of my huge addition to carbs, especially bread. This bread is also very easy to make and is worth the time it takes to make it. I hope you enjoy as much as I do!
Ingredients:
2 cups hot water
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons yeast
1 and 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup oil
5-6 cups bread flour
Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water, then add the yeast. Allow the yeast to proof until foamy.
Add oil into the yeast. Work in 4 cups of flour and the salt. Dough will be sticky then gradually add more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Do not add too much or your bread will be to hard. Knead the dough on a floured countertop until smooth. Return dough to bowl and cover with a damp towel for one hour.
Punch down the dough. Knead for a few minutes and divide in half. To shape the loaves, flatten the ball of dough and the roll it up tight and place into greased loaf pan with the seam down.
Allow to rise for about 30-45 mins until the bread has come just above the top of the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes
Makes 2 loaves
yum

Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Just to let you know, this bread is a little sweet because of the sugar, I’m sure you could cut the sugar down if you prefer but I like this breads sweetness, kind of reminds me of the Hawaiian bread.
