Recently I was looking for a new recipe to use up some of the bits and pieces of a few things I had in my pantry that I needed to use up. You know how it is, you have a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and you don’t want to toss them in the trash! I saw this recipe in one of my Hershey cookbooks and I had most of the ingredients to make this recipe, but I did have to make a few changes to use up what I had. I’ll post the recipe as is, but I’ll let you know what changes I made to this recipe at the end. This recipe is really good, and I will make it again because it’s so easy. I love these bars because I love snacks/deserts that are sweet but have a little bit of saltness. My co-workers love these bars…but be careful, they are addicting!
Happy Baking!
Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 cups finely crushed thin pretzels or pretzel sticks
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted
1 can (14-ounce) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 and 3/4 cups (10-ounce) Hershey’s Mini Kisses brand- milk chocolate
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 and 1/3 cups coarsely chopped pecans or pecan pieces
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
2. Combine pretzels and melted butter in a small bowl; press evenly onto bottom of prepared pan: Spread sweetened condensed milk evenly over pretzel layer: layer evenly with chocolates, marshmallows and pecans, in order: Press down firmly on pecans.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned; Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
***I did not have quite enough pretzels for the crust on the bars so I added a cup of ground graham crackers. I also did not have miniature marshmallows, or the large marshmallows…but I did have the Giant Campfire Marshmallows, so, I cut them into small pieces about the size of miniature marshmallows. Because they are so sticky after cutting, I put them in a bowl of confectioner sugar to separate…and they do seperate well! I also had some caramel balls so I sprinkled them on top as well as some toffee bits I needed to use up!
Looks amazing! Great post!

They are amazing! I took them to work at the Navy hospital I work at and they loved them. I love the sweet with the salty taste. I hope you enjoy them if/when you make them!
