M&M Cookies

M&M cookies have been around for a long time, but, there are always those who have never made them before, and there are those who have a different recipe than what I have here.  This cookie calls for Crisco and not butter, so make sure you use Crisco as the recipe calls for or your cookies may stretch out much further than what you’d like to.  If you like extra M&M’s on your cookie, add more, I know I do! If you like all your M&M letters to be face up…go for it, I know I prefer them that way, but they do take a little extra time.  These are colorful cookies to have any time of year!

Ingredients:

1 cup Crisco

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon water

2 eggs

2 cups PLUS 4 Tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 and 1/2 cups M&M’s

Directions:

Blend Crisco and sugars.  Beat in vanilla, water and eggs.

Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to the sugar and egg mixture.  Mix well.

Stir in M&M’s.  Drop by teaspoons onto UN-greased cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.

For additional color, press extra M&M’s onto cookies before baking.
