This was a new cookie for me this year and I should have read the step by step process better! Step 3 says to coat the cookies with the corn flakes, coconut and walnuts, but I added them directly into the batter. I’m not sure how they would have turned out had I made balls and rolled in the mixture and then baked. I also did not read the very end when the recipe says to dust with confectioner sugar. I’ll leave them as they are right now and dust them with confectioner sugar before putting together the Christmas containers.
1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
MIX ALL TOGETHER
Add 3 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon each of vanilla, soda and salt.
1 cup crushed corn flakes
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles (your choice)
Dip fork in cold water and press on cookies. Bake for 12-14 minutes at 325F. Cool cookies on a wire rack and once cool, dust with confectioner sugar (optional).
