Snickerdoodles

 
 
 
 
Ingredients:
 
1 cup shortening (2 sticks butter)
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups flour
2 teaspoon cream of tarter
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 teaspoon sugar
4 teaspoon cinnamon
 
Combine shortening, and sugar…add eggs, beat until fluffy.  Combine flour, cream of tarter, salt and soda.  Stir into creamed mixture.  Stir in vanilla.  Shape into balls the size if walnuts.  Combine remaining sugar with cinnamon; mix well.  Roll each ball in mixture and place on a greased cookie sheet, flatten slightly
 
Bake 400 ° for 9 minutes…or until the first cookies begin to fall.
 
Makes approx: 5 dozen cookies.
